"I grew up in rural Missouri and on the racetrack circuit traveling with my father who was a jockey and trainer. My first grade teacher was an artist. My mother was an early inspiration as she went back to school late in life to become a nurse. I attended Northeast Missouri State University, Ball State University and Southern Illinois University with a year in Vietnam in between. My first New York gallery was Gimpel & Weitzenhoffer. I also exhibited at Frank Marino and Gensis Gallery as well as various museum exhibitions including The Dubuque Museum of Art, The Illinois State Museum and the Brooklyn Museum of Art."
